ALLEGHENY SPORT, TRAVEL & OUTDOOR SHOW
LURES FANS INSIDE TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

PITTSBURGH, PA (January 25, 2011)

Diehard fishermen and hunters from across the region can come inside to the great outdoors when the 27th annual Allegheny Sport, Travel & Outdoor Show opens at the Monroeville Convention Center. The show runs from Wednesday, February 15 through Sunday, February 19.

Produced by Expositions, Inc., the region's only show dedicated to hunting, fishing and camping will offer hundreds of state-of-the-art exhibitors, dozens of live demonstrations, and many highly respected seminar presenters. With a non-stop schedule of experts, the program will wow attendees with some of sports' finest pros and biggest money winners.

“This show features a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment, exciting entertainment, and high quality hunting and fishing seminars from the experts who know those sports the best,” said Show Producer Chris Fassnacht.

Show attendees will be thrilled with presentations by animal experts from Jungle Island Zoo from Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, OH. Some of those beasts will be found in the “Please-Touch” petting zoo and indoor pony ride pavilion while the more terrifying Gila Monsters, Sand Scorpions and giant Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches will be featured in “Snakes On A Stage” performances and the Snake Pit – a slithering space designed only for the most fearless!

The Indoor Trout Pond will offer novice enthusiasts the chance to practice their casting and angling. While the Gold Panning Zone will allow kids of all ages to search for treasure using an authentic river sluice.

Among local outdoor sports authorities, the Allegheny Sport Show is particularly noted for its hunting outfitters who hail from as far away as Maine, Colorado and even South Africa. They offer a range of state-of-the-art equipment that's often difficult to locate at local retailers. But less experienced sportsmen will also want to stop by to check out the rods, reels, lures, hunting gear, electronic navigational devices and other equipment that's slated to be on sale at some of the best prices of the season. And water enthusiasts will want to spend time exploring the wide range of boats – both hard core fishing and leisure pontoon -- on display.

Those planning spring and summer vacations will can chat with the Show's many seasoned travel professionals. On-the-go types can coordinate fun family camping adventures, adventuresome fishing charters, and even once-in-a-lifetime hunting excursions in exotic locales.

“We see a wide range of visitors each year,” explained Show Producer Chris Fassnacht. “Avid fans of outdoor sports will find state-of-the-art products. And just once-in-a-while participants can get the information and advice they need to get moving. Because this Show is a great resource for solid information and state-of-the-art products, everyone can find what they need.”
